According to UNICEF as of September 2015 13 million children are not receiving education because of the conflict in the Middle East. This is wiping out an entire generation and creating more problems for the world.
Education is fundamental for development and the bettering of human life.It eradicates poverty, hunger, discrimination and other intolerances. Our future however is going to be marred by these malices because of the current unending conflicts in several parts of the world. Young boys and girls and their teachers are not attending school because they fear to be attacked on their way to school or at school or their schools have been destroyed or are being used as shelters.
In what is to become of the world next,we need doctors, teachers and other proffessions but that does not seem to be the future of many children as their future has been grabbed from them by wars and conflict. Children in Syria have missed 4years of education, which is undeniably alot of lost time making these children all brawn and no brain. It is extremely essential that we are educated at an early age when our minds are still fresh and when we can easily comprehend given information. This is however not happening because of conflict in various areas such as Mali, Libya, Nigeria, Syria, Iraq. Ultimately a future generation of educated people is being wiped clean.
Coupled with various problems such as the availabity of education and Religious factors, conflict is accelerating developing countries deep into the stone age. This retrogressive act is holding the world in bondage and is taking us nowhere. Former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Anan once said “Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.
